Staffing Announcement

Dear Members,

We are excited to re-introduce the role of Player Assistant / Ranger and keep you informed of some additional staff members rounding out your Golf Operations team.

John Healey will join us as one of our Player Assistant/Rangers. John is originally from the Boston area having worked for the United States Postal Office as a District Manager and Engineer for over 30 years.

Retired and residing in Naples, John has Starter, Ranger, and Player Assistant experience from both Imperial Golf Club and Stonebridge Country Club.

When not playing golf, you can find John rooting for all sports teams Boston.

Dennis Shaw is also joining us as our other Player Assistant/Ranger. Dennis graduated from Ohio State University and spent his career with Winnebago Industries for 25 years. He progressed within the company to the General Sales Manager, and was responsible for all sales to Winnebago dealers throughout the United States and Canada.

Upon retirement, Dennis moved to Naples and enjoyed retirement while working part time in real estate. Eventually his love for golf brought him to become the Starter/Player Assistant at Esplanade Golf & Country Club for the past year.

When Dennis is not playing golf, you can find him watching Ohio State Football!

Both John and Dennis look forward bringing their interpersonal and relationship building skills to our Player Assistant role. They will be actively on the golf course monitoring our pace of play and golf course etiquette guidelines. Please join us in welcoming them to our team.

Jason Pickett has also joined us as a seasonal Assistant Golf Professional. Jason is from Cape Coral and grew up playing travel baseball on nationally ranked teams. His passion for golf leads him to attend Florida Gulf Coast University and enroll in their Professional Golf Management program and has recently graduated in 2019.

Jason comes with great experience from both Shadow Wood Country Club in Estero and most recently Mountain Top Golf and Lake Club in Cashiers, North Carolina. He looks forward to continuing to grow as a golf professional and work his way into being a Director of Golf in the private club environment.

When not playing golf, you will find Jason following his favorite baseball team, the Cleveland Indians.

Jim Lazarko joins us in the Locker Room and comes with extensive experience as a golf professional and in customer service. Jim is originally from Canada and attended the University of Manitoba majoring in Psychology. After graduating university, Jim started his career as a golf professional at St. Charles Country Club in Winnipeg, Canada. He then moved to Illinois and had various roles as a golf professional at The Village Links of Glen Ellyn Highland Ridge Golf Club, and Bolingbrook.

He started traveling to Naples seasonally in 2015 before moving down full time in 2017 as the Outside Services manager of Arrowhead Golf Club. Jim is a lifetime member of the PGA and remains an accomplished player with his most recent handicap index being a 0.8.

Jim comes with locker room experience from the Island Club on Marco and looks forward to building relationships with the members within the locker room.
